My Week of Reading (14 - 19 November 2016)

My Week of Reading (7 - 12 November 2016)

Hello Everyone, I'm still trying to balance writing and reading, though I think the reading might be going slightly better; though only time will tell.  I've got one review to share: Night by Casey Christie: Amazon:  Amazon Review - Night Goodreads:  Goodreads Review - Night Here is my blog review of the book:  Blog Review - Night I'm currently reading 'The Golden Tup' by Leslie W P Garland, and am enjoying it so far. I think I'll get through this one relatively quickly. I should have a review up of this book sometime this week; and I might end up sort of adding another 'review' site, but it'll probably only be this one time that I'll be doing it. Last Word: I'm still not sure how I'm doing with my TBR this month, I think I'm on track, but I could be wrong. I still think that I'm going to have to squeeze reading in at some point this month, which might mean sacrificing my writing. I hope it doesn't com

Review - Night by Casey Christie

Book Cover Year Published: 2014 Genre: Crime Blurb: Night is a winner. Rough, real, challenging...and ultimately redemptive, this novel gives an unflinching look inside the rancid, raunchy, frightening underworld of South African organized crime as fought by the South African Police Force.  A violent world of paramilitary police, African style layers of intrigue, and a mix of cultures brings a special atmosphere to an excellent story, great characters and a wonderful style of rhythm that drives this book forward. About the Author: Best selling author. Consultant. “Wine is sunlight, held together by water.” Galileo Galilei Connect with the Author: Twitter:  Casey Christie Twitter My Take on the Book: I liked the fact that this book was based in South Africa (which is the country I live in, for those that don't know); there were times when I found the jargon a little confusing, and also felt that the end of the book was a little rushed. I ended up giv

My Week of Reading (31 October - 5 November 2016)

Hello Everyone, My reading has sadly been lacking this week...due to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month for those that don't know). I had actually gotten a little bit behind last night, but I've caught up again; and I'm definitely hoping to get a little bit ahead. Anyways, enough about the writing; here are the reviews for the other book that I haven't posted links for yet: Moondance by Diane Chandler: Amazon:  Amazon Review - Moondance Goodreads:  Goodreads Review - Moondance Here is my blog review of the book:  Blog Review - Moondance Trying to balance reading and writing (especially with NaNo going on), is difficult. A person has to write 1667 words a day. There are some days where the plot flows, and then sometimes the plot dries out a little bit. The final word count to reach is 50 000. I hope I reach it this year; last year I didn't. Last Words: And as usual,I have been overambitious with my reading pile for November. I've
