Book Cover Blurb: Imagine a love so intense you’d set it free to dream and kill to protect it…  Then imagine Aidan and Eloise. Tormented and abused to the point of mental illness, Aidan Fischer was on the path to nowhere fast. His father and brothers were career criminals. He’d had a couple of scrapes with the law himself, yet despite the fact everyone in his life had given up, Aidan still had dreams. Dreams that one day he’d find his place in the world and be famous like Kurt Cobain. Dreams that he’d buy a nice house for his mum and sister and write songs the world would want to sing. Eloise Fairchild had dreams too. She dreamt of becoming a prima ballerina. She longed for the kind of love and affection no amount of money could buy. She prayed for a mother who wasn’t emotionally unavailable and a father who cared about more than how well she could dance and if she were top of her class.  From the moment Aidan and Eloise met, things were destined to get tricky. Highlights of the Month - April 2016

Hello there, Another month gone! Where does the time go? Thankfully I managed to get some leisure reading in, don't know if I'm going to be able to do that in May, but a person never knows.  Here are my highlights of the month: -Reading 'A Thorne for a Crown' by Lorel Clayton. I absolutely LOVED this book, and have asked my dad to bring me back a paperback copy when he gets back from the US.  -I also got another ARC ebook (Always & Eternal by Lindy Dale) that I also enjoyed reviewing. I hope to get more ARCs in the future! It's enjoyable reading a book before everyone else (the public) reads it!  -Another highlight is definitely another book I received for review, and that is 'Giant Killers' by Steve Lawson. I knew that when I read the blurb, that I was going to want to highlight things I wanted to remember, so I asked for a physical copy, and I'm SO glad I did. It was nice to have a good reading month, and I've got another crazy

The Copy that I Read Blurb: In a novel where ancient traditions conflict with reality and the pressures of modern life, a young European princess proves that simplicity, courage, and dignity win the day and forever alter her world. In blue jeans and a pullover, Princess Christianna is a young woman of her times: born in Europe, educated in America, worried about the future of the world she lives in, responsible beyond her years. Christianna is the only daughter of the Reigning Prince of a European nation that takes its royalty seriously–and her father has ironclad plans for Christianna’s life, a burden that is almost unbearable. Now, after four years at Berkeley, life in her father’s palace cannot distract Christianna from what she sees outside the kingdom–the suffering of children, the ravages of terrorism and disease. Determined to make a difference in the world, she persuades His Royal Highness, her father, to let her volunteer for the Red Cross in East Africa. And for Chri

My Week of Reading (18 - 23 April 2016)

Hello Everyone, I did a little bit of reading this week, and due to the read-a-thon, I got more reading done than usual. I finished a book for review, one that I'm going to be putting up on Genuine Jenn's blog; one that I highly enjoyed. I'll be providing the links in my next 'week of reading'.  There's also some reviews that I have to catch up on, I should get to them this week. During the read-a-thon, I managed to finish 'H.R.H.' by Danielle Steel, I'll be putting up a review this week, and then provide the links to it in my next 'week of reading'. Another book I also managed to start, and that I was hoping to finish during the read-a-thon (but didn't manage to), was 'The Secret of Heaven' by Felix Alexander. I should finish it if not tomorrow, then hopefully on Tuesday. There was also another book I was hoping to read during the read-a-thon, and that is 'Always and Eternal' by Lindy Dale. I plan to read t

Book Cover Blurb: Part 4 of the SEVEN DAYS series.  A baby. A proposal. A death. A reunion.  What the hell more can possibly happen to Sadie?  Sadie and Nicholas are one loved up couple. The baby is on the way, they're engaged and Sadie has rekindled her friendship with Emily.  But good fortune never lasts for long and even when he stays away, Joel manages to impact on their lives, causing Sadie and Nicholas to argue. The couple love each other to the ends of the earth but the birth of a baby can't ensure them the happiness they crave. About the Author: Lindy began writing at University but never really wanted to be 'an author'. She wanted to be a princess or at worst a Kindergarten teacher. Her first novel, Heart of Glass, was penned in 2006 and since then she has become known for writing funny, forthright romantic fiction with a cast of crazy, comic characters in outrageous situations - many of which have actually occurred in her life. Review - Spinster Christmas by Nikki Mahood

Image
Book Cover Blurb: Spinster Christmas was originally included in the 2013 Charity Anthology 'Merry Chick Lit' and is now available as the first part in a Novella series.  Cara's looking forward to spending Christmas alone until she learns her old--and she believes very gay--crush needs a place to stay. Though it soon becomes clear that while still hot, Ronan isn't gay after all...  About the Author: Nikki Mahood was born in Dublin and grew up in North Yorkshire. Her grandmother, still back in Ireland, provided her with stationary so they could write to each other regularly. That, along with an overactive imagination, nurtured by a love of reading and obsession with Josephine March of Little Women, was the start of her writing career. Without setting out to write a book, a taster course for The Open University brought Fallon Magee into Nikki's imagination, followed shortly by Abner Hagarth-Smythe, and suddenly what had started as a character exerc

My Copy of the Book Blurb: The first real case femme fatale turned private eye, Eva Thorne, has had in months may be more than she can handle. King Rutgard has been kidnapped, only he's not entirely alive, which makes finding him difficult. What's more, dwarf men are joining the suffragist movement in droves to win freedom from the matriarchy, and there's a werewolf terrorist in town causing chaos. Eva needs a case like this to make her reputation, but she has problems of her own. Dark magic is rising in her, the Thorne legacy, and she can't control it. She has to find a way or risk imprisonment by the jackbooted elf soldiers who are cracking down on illegal necromancy and worship of the Dead God. Worse, the God of Death wants her soul, as does her twin sister, so Eva denies her magic and hides from her family. But some things are impossible to hide from, like the tax collector … and love. About the Author(s): Lorel and Clayton were both born and raised

Meanwhile President Alexander Toporvsky along with his National Security Council of the Free Republic of North America safely watch the pandemonium over Western LA from the safe confines of an underground bunker known as The Basement deep below FRN’s capital in Honolulu.  On the other side of the world throughout the Middle East the effects of what’s happening in the Western Hemisphere are felt in a variety of ways.  The United Islamic Caliphate and their leader, King Rehan Kahlil, still await their coming messiah, the Mahdi. A messenger named Jabour suddenly comes with news for the king that the Mahdi is indeed walking the face of the earth and that he will establish his kingdom very soon

My Week of Reading (4 - 9 April 2016)

Hello There, I haven't had too much of a reading week, I finished 'The Great Deception' by David Berko (I'll be putting up a review of it in this upcoming week), and I have gotten myself absolutely addicted to 'A Thorne for a Crown' by Lorel Clayton. I've got quite a reading schedule coming up in the next two months, I'm still hoping to get a paperback in this month (hopefully). Thankfully I got most of this weekend to myself, so I've been trying to read every chance I get. Though thinking about it, I should get in at least one paperback this month (waiting for a review copy that I'm going to be doing later this month). I want to try and finish 'A Thorne for a Crown' by this Wednesday (which I should be able to do with the pace I'm going at), then I want to fit in a leisure book as well. I seem to be keeping up with my reviews for now, keeping a little ahead, which makes room for any leisure reading that I would want to d
